NATIVO - Trailer.

Introducing the trailer of the NATIVO Project.

NATIVO is a documentary that tells the full story about the indigenous communities living in Panama.

NATIVO - Episode 1

The first episode of the NATIVO Documentary brings us to the Guna Yala archipelago in Panama, a peaceful community where agriculture, fishing and tourism coexist. The Guna have been witnessing the effects of climate change and the increase in the sea level, and have been trying to contrast the phenomenon with the resources at their disposal, with catastrophic effects.

NATIVO - Episode 2

In the second episode of the NATIVO Documentary we stay in Gardí Sugdub, Guna Yala, a district north-east of Panama City.

In a country surrounded by mono-culturalism and linguistic homogeneity, the Guna’s precarious schools are a symbol of resilience towards preserving their culture and language intact.

NATIVO - Episode 3

In the third episode of the NATIVO Documentary we visit 3 of the communities in the comarca Ngäbe-Buglé affected by mining and damming: Llano Tugrí, Valle del Rey and Norteño.

These communities have been or will be impacted by intensive mining and damming for the development of energy plants, causing displacement of the population and violation of human rights.
